World Duty Free Group (WDFG) has just unveiled its latest store at Stansted Airport, designed by JHP.
The design consultancy has been working with WDFG for over a decade on a number of key store design projects.
For the latest incarnation of the World Duty Free store concept, JHP developed the interior architecture of the retail space. There was a deliberate minimal use of columns, which enabled the key store features – the oversized ceiling drums – to punctuate the space and create natural enclosures for the store’s core categories.
The drums act as focal points to pull customers into the corners of the store, thereby ensuring they have full exposure to the product ranges, brand promotions and events.
The store’s neutral and contemporary architecture provides the backdrop for WDFG’s own fixtures which showcase the world’s leading fragrance, cosmetics, liquor and luxury brands.
JHP also considered the store’s entrance, and the integration of key features such WDFG’s digital marketing concept -‘Contentainment’ with its multi screen wall and canopy.
World Duty Free Stansted represents another successful collaboration with WDFG and the continuing evolution of one of the world’s most innovative travel retailers.
